For decades, women with ADHD have been overlooked and undiagnosed. That’s finally beginning to change. But there’s still so far to go.

This is where MissUnderstood comes in. We’re a channel made by women with ADHD for women with ADHD. And we’re talking about the things we want to hear. Women with ADHD need (good!) information, smart takes on ADHD topics, and so much more.

Hang out with @catieosaurus and guests as they discuss ADHD, relationships, and sex on Sorry, I Missed This. Get answers to the ADHD questions you didn’t know you had from Dr. Monica Johnson on ADHD and…. Or tune in for practical tips from empathetic ADHD coach (who’s totally been there) Jaye Lin on Tips From an ADHD Coach

Episode transcript

Jaye: One of the things about ADHD and women is that not many of us realized we had it.

Cate: But that's beginning to change in a big way.

Jaye: Yeah, a seriously big way.

Monica: Since 2020, ADHD diagnoses in adult women have nearly doubled. And still, women are dramatically underdiagnosed.

Jaye: Yeah, and part of this disparity means that women are more likely to mask our challenges.

Monica:  And more likely to have a lower well-being than men or neurotypical women.

Cate: So, you could say there is a lot to talk about. This is "MissUnderstood."

Monica: A podcast channel made for women with ADHD.

Jaye: It's a channel by neurodivergent women for neurodivergent women.

Cate: Just saying that makes me smile. And this channel is going to be the home for a bunch of different shows.

Monica: One will be called "ADHD and," which will be hosted by me, Dr. Monica Johnson. I'm a licensed psychologist, and I'll be talking about the many ways ADHD can affect everyday life.

Jaye: My name is Jaye Lin and I'll be hosting "Tips from an ADHD Coach," where I'll be in your feed with practical, actionable tips for common ADHD challenges.

Cate: And I'm Cate Osborn, aka Catieosaurus. I'm a certified sex educator, and my show "Sorry, I Missed This" is about all things ADHD as it applies to relationships, intimacy, sex, communication, and more.

Monica: We're going to have other shows in the feed too. So you'll be able to get all you need in one place.

Jaye: Follow "MissUnderstood" now wherever you get your podcasts.

Cate: Or on Understood's YouTube channel at youtube.com/understoodorg.

Monica: I mean, we have a Golden Girls-level ADHD show in the works, it sounds like.

Cate: I'm so ready for this.
