Charles Doolittle, MSEd, is the head of public partnerships at Understood. He leads collaborative initiatives with nonprofits, government agencies, academic institutions, foundations, and other public entities to promote inclusion and support for people with learning and thinking differences. This role also includes developing partnerships designed to improve individual outcomes and shift societal inequities, along with securing resources for expanded and sustained impact.
Doolittle served as the director, teacher talent at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). He has held numerous roles in the U.S. Department of Education and served as a program officer for three grant programs. Doolittle was a high school teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools and a middle school teacher in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools. He was recognized as an observational teacher by the Education Transformation Office and served as grade-level team lead. Doolittle began teaching as a Teach for America corps member after serving as a program lead for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee for four years.
Doolittle earned his bachelor of arts degree in sociology and social philosophy from Marquette University and his MSEd degree in education and social change from the University of Miami.
