JoAnna Barnes, JD, is a lawyer and the parent of a college student and a young adult with learning disabilities. She lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and is a member of the board of directors of the Learning Disabilities Association of America. She is also president of LDA of North Carolina and serves as chair on the national LDA Advocacy Committee.
Barnes holds BA and JD degrees from Georgetown University. She practiced federal administrative law in Washington, DC. Although she no longer practices law, she is a member in good standing of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bars.
