Miriam Nunberg, Esq., EdM, is an attorney, advocate, and education consultant. As a staff attorney at the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) in the U.S. Department of Education, she handled complaints of discrimination on the bases of race, national origin, sex, age, and disability. She also co-founded and led the Brooklyn Urban Garden Charter School, a middle school with the mission of serving students of all backgrounds and abilities in an integrated, hands-on setting.
Nunberg independently advises and advocates for parents of students with disabilities, providing training and consultation around systemic equity in schools. She also is Of Counsel to the Law Office of Elisa Hyman, a special education, civil rights, and disability practice. She is an active member of the New York City school integration movement. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her family.
