Meghan Casey Whittaker, JD, MSW, is the policy research and advocacy associate at the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD). She is part of the public policy and advocacy team that implements NCLD’s legislative strategy in Washington, DC, and advances government policies that support the success of individuals with learning and thinking differences in school, at work, and in life. She supports advocacy campaigns and engages with NCLD’s grassroots network of committed parents.
Before joining NCLD, Whittaker completed her law degree and her master’s degree in social work at the Catholic University of America. She has dedicated her career to advocating for children and families on various issues. She has worked with the DC Public Defender Service in their Juvenile Services Program and with Children’s Law Center’s Guardian ad Litem Project. She also has worked as a therapist for children with behavioral and emotional challenges, and served as an educational surrogate parent for a student with a learning disability.
Whittaker earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and criminology from Stonehill College.
