Brian Stack, MEd, is the superintendent of schools in Fremont, New Hampshire, an author of several books, and an educational consultant. Stack got his start in education as a high school mathematics teacher. He has served as a high school administrator and as a school board member in three school districts in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Stack also has worked as a consultant and expert coach for a number of school districts and organizations focusing on personalized and competency-based learning. He is the co-author of Breaking With Tradition: The Shift to Competency-Based Learning in PLCs, Unpacking the Competency-Based Classroom: Equitable, Individualized Learning in a PLC at Work, and Elevating Competency-Based Learning in a PLC at Work: Actionable Assessment, Defensible Evidence, and Equitable Grading.
Stack earned bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and mathematics education from Boston University and a master’s degree in education administration from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He also earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in educational leadership from New England College.
