Lauren Jewett, NBCT, MA, is an elementary special education teacher with a decade and a half of experience. She is a National Board Certified Teacher in exceptional needs and works with students in grades 3–5 in New Orleans. Her expertise specifically focuses on Universal Design for Learning (UDL), mental health, equitable approaches, and legislative work.

As a former local and statewide school board candidate, Jewett has held many roles in education, including mentor, professional learning facilitator, special education administrator, instructional coach, and panelist. Overall, she has devoted her career to advocating for students with disabilities, their families, and the teaching profession. 

Jewett holds a bachelor of arts degree in history and political science from the University of Rochester and a master’s degree in English literature from Middlebury’s Bread Loaf School of English.
