Brian Smith, MA, is a kindergarten teacher in Claremont, North Carolina. During his two decades of teaching, he served as vice president of the North Carolina chapter of the International Dyslexia Association.
Smith also is an adjunct professor in the education department at Lenoir–Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina. In 2015, he was named an ASCD Emerging Leader, and in 2017 he was the National Picture Book Month Ambassador.
Smith earned a bachelor of arts in psychology and human/community services from Lenoir–Rhyne University. He also earned a master of arts in elementary education from Gardner–Webb University.
