Shannon Duncan
Shannon Duncan lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and three children. Her youngest, Carter, was diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD at the end of third grade. Duncan remediated Carter’s dyslexia with a Structured Literacy program and became a Certified Barton Tutor for adults and children in her community.
Duncan is a founding member of Decoding Dyslexia Virginia. She advocates every day to create positive change for people with dyslexia in Virginia and across the nation. In addition to her local advocacy work, she works with the International Dyslexia Association as a member of the Perspectives on Language and Literacy editorial board.
