Curriculum and Design Specialist, CAST

Allison Posey, MEd, participates in curricular design and professional learning programs at CAST (formerly known as the Center for Applied Special Technology). There, she works with educators to integrate into instructional practices new research on how the brain learns. Her goal is for all students to access the curriculum and become expert learners.

Her work at CAST focuses on the key role that emotion plays in learning. She is the author of Engage the Brain: Design for Learning That Taps into the Power of Emotion.

Before joining CAST, Posey was a middle school, high school, and community college science teacher. She has taught in person and in online settings. Posey earned a master’s degree in mind, brain, and education from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
